Notebook Sketch
Notebook
I started out with a sketch of what I wanted my notebook cover to look like.
|
Then I created my notebook design using Illustrator. I started with a 6" by 9" document on illustrator. Then I created 2 4.25" by 5.5" boxes. After that I chose an image from the internet. Then I turned the image from the internet into a vector image. Then I made sure all of the parts I wanted to cut out were outlined in red.
|
Next I put the illustrator into UCP. I set up all of the settings in UCP set up such as the material type and thickness. Then after I finished setting the settings I repositioned the image so it would print on mat board. Then push start.

Water Bottle
Here is the sketch of what I wanted my water bottle to kinda look like.
|
Then I created a file in illustrator to look like my sketch. I started out by creating a 10" x 10" document in illustrator. Then I used the formula to determine what the widest my image can be. Once I figured that out I inserted the image I wanted into the illustrator document. Then I vectored that image. After that I added my name underneath the fish and grouped the text and image. Once you are done with the image then you are ready to rotate the image 270 degrees and set your dimensions. Lastly put that file on to your flash drive.

Before you start the printing process make sure that the water bottle is secure in the rotational jig. This is a picture of my water bottle printing.

What I Learned
I learned multiple things. The first thing I learned was how to use the rotational jig in the laser. I also go way better at using illustrator to create the designs I wanted to put on my notebook cover and water bottle. The last thing that I learned is that it is important to make sure you have all of the pieces in illustrator outlined in the correct color so it either cuts the part out or engraves it.
